Weigh-in - Passenger ship

We recently carried out the weighing of a passenger ship.

Weighing allows us to determine the displacement of a ship. To do this, it is necessary to measure the ship's draft at different points.

This operation is carried out afloat, using a small boat from which the distance between a reference (draft mark, deck edge, etc.) and the water surface is measured.

We designed and manufactured measuring pipettes in order to obtain sufficiently precise results.

Weighing is the first step in a stability experiment. We'll come back to this topic soon!
